FAQ

Short answers. Free overlanding groups and events โ€” find a trip, join a trip, or organize your own.

For everyone

Do I need an account to browse?
No. Browse, search, and view every group and event without an account. You only need one to register, comment, or create.
Is it really free?
Yes. No membership fee, no paywall, ever. Your data stays yours โ€” we never share or sell it.

Users

How do I join an event?
Create a free account, fill in your rig profile, then hit Register on the event page.
What if the event is full?
You're added to the waitlist and auto-promoted if a spot opens โ€” we email you when you're in.
Do I need to join the group first?
No. Registering automatically joins the host group (leave anytime).
What's a rig profile and why do you need it?
Vehicle, tires, winch, GMRS, experience โ€” so organizers know who's actually showing up. Your rig must meet each trip's requirements (tire size, winch, recovery gear, etc.).
What do the difficulty ratings mean?
Easy, moderate, and difficult trails. Respect them โ€” don't sign up for something beyond your comfort or rig.
How do ratings work?
After an event ends, registered attendees rate the group and the organizer 1โ€“5 stars. Your rating is anonymous to everyone.
Can I cancel my registration?
Yes, from the event page. Cancelling frees your spot for the next person on the waitlist.
How do I report a problem?
The Feedback form โ€” someone reads every submission.

Organizers

How do I become an organizer?
Request it on My Groups & Events. An admin approves it โ€” then you can create groups and events.
How do I create an event?
Events belong to a group, so create or join one first. Then use "New Event" on My Groups & Events or the group page.
What should I set on the event form?
Be honest about requirements: difficulty, drive type, minimum tire size, winch/GMRS/recovery gear, vehicle cap, and GPX track. Members' rigs are checked against them when they register.
How do I see who's coming?
My Groups & Events shows every registered rig per event โ€” vehicle, tires, winch, experience โ€” plus a waitlist you can promote from.
Can I remove a member?
Yes. Group admins/organizers can remove a member with a reason โ€” their registrations for your events are cancelled and they're emailed. You can allow them back anytime.
How do I get the word out?
Every event has a Share on Facebook button and a copy-link button โ€” post to your Facebook group in one tap. We can't sync with Facebook, but sharing is one click.
Do organizers get rated?
Yes โ€” attendees rate after each event, anonymously. Your average shows on your public profile.
Who enforces the rules?
Organizers run their own trips (kicks, removals). Platform-wide issues โ€” harassment, spam โ€” are handled by the site admins.
